Event Sponsorship

Image

The Society brings excellent cultural and educational icons such as political satirist, Mark Russell, Valerie Hemingway (personal secretary to Ernest Hemingway), Cahal Dunne, “Ireland’s Happy Man” and others. What’s more, the Society has a wide range of high-profile events year-round. By becoming a major sponsor for an event, project, or program, you or your company’s name will be in our press materials and you will get free tickets for yourself or to give to your employees.

Contact Joshua today at jsherretts@crawfordhistorical.org to discuss event sponsorship opportunities today.

Bequests

It’s easy to direct a bequest to the Crawford County Historical Society-

Include the following language in your will or revocable living trust: “I give, devise, and bequeath to the Crawford County Historical Society, a Pennsylvania charitable organization, ____ percent of the remainder of my estate [or the sum of $____ ] for their unrestricted use [or specific purpose if discussed with CCHS staff in advance]. If in the future this bequest cannot be usefully applied for the described purpose, I authorize the Board of Directors of the Crawford County Historical Society to apply this bequest to such other purposes as it in its discretion may determine to be consistent with my original intent as stated above.”

Methods to create a bequest include:

  • Codicil: Use the above language. There is no need to redo all current estate plans.
  • Amendment to trust: Use the above language. There is no need to redo the entire trust document.
  • Retirement Plan (401K or IRA): Name the Crawford County Historical Society on the beneficiary designation form; if left to heirs, these assets may be heavily taxed.
  • Insurance policy: Name the Crawford County Historical Society on the beneficiary designation form.
  • Donor advised fund: Name the Crawford County Historical Society as remainder beneficiary.
  • Brokerage or other similar account: Name the Crawford County Historical Society on the pay-on-death designation form.

Please consult your attorney about which option is best for you.
